The American Securities and Exchange (SEC) commission accelerates its regulatory program under the direction of its president, which called for an urgent implementation of priorities related to the crypto and the modernization of the initial rules of the public offer (IPO) (1). This change reflects a broader strategy to align regulatory frameworks on the evolutionary nature of the cryptocurrency market, while ensuring solid protection of investors and in favor of innovation. The president underlined the need for a more structured and transparent environment for cryptocurrency companies seeking to become public, signaling a departure from previously strict application practices that have discouraged certain companies from entering the public market (1).

The changes proposed to the IPO rules aim to reduce regulatory charges for emerging companies, in particular in the technology and cryptography sectors, by rationalizing procedures and by revisiting obsolete requirements. This approach aims to reduce compliance costs and encourage more startups and innovative companies to access public capital. For the cryptography industry, where many companies have traditionally avoided the IPOs due to the regulatory uncertainty, the revised position of the SEC could represent a turning point. By supporting alternative financing models and clarifying the legal landscape, the agency strives to create a more favorable environment for companies and companies based on blockchain that invest in digital assets like Bitcoin (1).

Industry observers have noted that the renewed concentration of dry on the regulation of cryptography could lead to greater clarity and confidence for companies navigate in the complex legal framework surrounding digital assets. The recent opening of the agency to cryptographic companies suggests a change to a favorable regulatory environment, which encourages innovation rather than imposing obstacles. This strategy is aligned with the broader objectives of the dry modernization of capital training in the United States and adaptation to the realities of today’s financial markets (1).

While the SEC continues to advance these initiatives, market players closely monitor potential rules that could have an impact on traditional and crypto companies. The agency’s ability to find a balance between investor protection and market innovation will be a key determinant to shape the future of access to public capital in the United States (1).
