Both said, “While the titles and non-security markets are increasingly converging, we are delighted to embark on a new start for coordination between the regulators of the American market. The work of the dry and the CFTC has never been more linked – and the wave of innovation before us never depends more on the depth of our cooperation. ”
A dry frame and CFTC coordinated for the margin of the portfolio
This announcement arrives a few days after their joint Declaration of staff on Crypto Asset Products spots, which was their first stage of collaboration. The two agencies have had tensions in the past, mainly due to overlapping jurisdictions and opposite regulatory approaches, in particular with regard to crypto.
However, the two have both agreed that a coordinated STE-CFFC coordinated for the portfolio margin could potentially reduce capital ineffectiveness by recognizing the compensated positions between product classes.
The two have reaffirmed that they are ready to envisage “innovation exemptions” to create ports or safe exemptions that allow market players to engage in trade between peers of spot, lever, margin or other transactions in cryptographic assets. This includes derivatives such as perpetual contracts on DEFI protocols.
These secure ports and exemptions would allow market players to build commercially viable models while agencies increase the regulations in the longer term.
According to the dry and the CFTC, the right to self -sufficiency of assets is a basic American value. In the current state of things, market players can negotiate the crypto spot on the sites regulated by the government. Regulatory organizations say that there are other means for users to negotiate crypto.
A joint round table must take place in September
The two regulatory organizations announcement A dry and CFTC joint round table on regulatory harmonization, which will be held on September 29, 2025.
According to the press release seen by Cryptopolitan, they both said, “As detailed by the president’s working group on the digital asset markets, relate to the strengthening of American leadership in digital financial technology, we are committed to using our existing authorities to establish adjusted regulations for innovative products and trading platforms.”
On the round table, the SEC and the CFTC will discuss ways to encourage the means to harmonize their approaches to product offers, allow an increased market choice and protect investors through clear, predictable and pro-innovation regulatory frameworks.
The dry and the CFTC are open to collaborating with the possibility of developing additional negotiation hours, if applicable. The expansion of hours of negotiation could better align the American markets on the evolution of the reality of a global economy and always on. However, there may not be a single better way to manage all goods with regard to the hours of negotiation. However, this can work better for certain types of assets than others.
In addition, the SEC and the CFTC should examine collaboration opportunities to examine when event contracts can be made available to American market players. It is no matter where the jurisdictional lines fall.
The declaration also discussed the offshore cryptographic markets with many perpetual contracts, which are Swaps which do not have a defined expiration date. They are not as used in the United States as they could be because of the court and the definition constraints.
According to regulatory organizations, “Agencies could consider simultaneous stages towards perpetual contracts on land which meet the standards of investors and customer protection, potentially allowing these products to negotiate on the platforms regulated by dry and CFTC.”
