Two main Ethereum Layer-2 networks, Linea and Polygon, experienced operational setbacks on September 10, adding to the concerns about the reliability of scaling solutions.
Incidents come a week after Starknet, another Ethereum Layer-2 network, has undergone a four-hour breakdown, highlighting the challenges to maintain Rollup systems systematically online.
Linea’s breakdown coincides with the air plan
Linea, the Ethereum layer 2 network developed by Consensys, returned to normal operations after an unexpected break of almost an hour in the production of blocks.
The data examined by Lineascan confirmed a gap of 46 minutes between the blocks of 23,144,386 and 23,145,387 before the online system returns.
The disturbance was linked to the reduction in the performance of the Mainnet sequencer, which blocked the activity for more than 40 minutes.
Although the development team has not published an official explanation, the Linea public status tracking now lists all the entirely functional services.
The moment of the incident drew attention because it came a few hours before the Linea token plateau. The project confirmed last week that the initial complaint window for the Linea tokens would open later during the day.
In particular, anticipation around launch has attracted malicious actors. In recent days, community members have been targeted by phishing scams, which has prompted Linea to publish an advisory warning for users to remain vigilant.

Despite this turbulence, community interest in Linea remains strong. L2Beat data shows that the total guaranteed value on the network has increased by more than 20% in last week to around 1.7 billion dollars.
Polygon
On the other hand, the Polygon Foundation announced on X that the network is faced with a “temporary delay in finality”.
According to the Foundation:
“Although the chain continues to operate and the blocks and control points are produced, there is currently a period of 10-15 minutes as a purpose due to a step problem.”
The draft state page confirmed that the problem was caused by a bug that affected its Bor and Erigon nodes.
He also declared that this problem had had an impact on certain remote procedural appeal services (RPC), which leads to the late purpose.
Meanwhile, a fix has been identified and deployed on the Validator network from press time.
