Today, we are announcing a transition within the Ethereum Foundation leadership team. After numerous contributions to the Foundation’s mission and operations, Tomasz Stańczak has decided to step down as Co-Executive Director. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees has appointed Bastian Aue as Interim Co-Executive Director, effective immediately.
Tomasz joined the leadership team during a critical period of growth and maturation for the Foundation. His strategic advice has helped increase our ability to reach large groups of people and teams, and enable FE to better understand businesses in the ecosystem. It also brought a sense of urgency and focus, helped organize EF teams to work more efficiently, and expanded enterprise community development. Thanks to his speed of execution, he achieved a remarkable series of milestones in a short time.
Bastian brings deep organizational knowledge of EF’s unique structure and values, as well as extensive experience within EF management. For those less familiar with Bastian, he has been a vital part of our leadership team, having taken part in decision-making alongside co-directors Hsiao-Wei and Tomasz, previously focusing on grants, business and operations. His organizational knowledge is invaluable in keeping the FE in good shape while continuing to move forward.
We express our deepest gratitude to Tomasz for his service, leadership and dedication during his tenure as Co-ED, and we welcome Bastian as he assumes this interim role.
Moments of transition are an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come and refocus on the work ahead, with more effective grassroots development and a broader community than ever before. The Ethereum Foundation is fully committed to supporting the development of Ethereum on both a technical and social level, stewarding the values that make Ethereum what it is and everything we know it will become.
