FIFA Predictions Partner ADI Predictstreet Opens Up to US Traders Despite Licensing Questions Ahead of World Cup

  • ADI Predictstreet launched on June 8 and now trades in 23 U.S. states through Fanatics Markets.
  • Gibraltar granted ADI its first predictive market license in nine days.
  • ADI goes back to IHC Abu Dhabi via Finstreet; CEO Psarrakis denies Qatargate 2022 links.

A FIFA-branded marketplace enters a busy U.S. sector

ADI Predictstreet went live on June 8, launching in Gibraltar before the tournament opened on June 11 and reaching the United States via a co-branded “World Cup Hub” with Fanatics Markets. The hub is now available in 23 states, giving U.S. traders access to FIFA-branded prediction contracts for the first time.

Built on ADI Chain, the platform allows users to fund accounts with both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, stream every World Cup match in eligible jurisdictions, and settle eligible markets through what it calls a near real-time resolution engine. The Fanatics Hub delivers official FIFA player data and tournament news alongside markets. Dimitrios Psarrakis, CEO of ADI Predictstreet, said the “reach and fanatic understanding of American sports fans is unmatched,” describing the United States as “a strategically important market” as the primary host country for the World Cup.

The launch puts ADI into territory that Kalshi and Polymarket have spent months fighting over. Both venues saw record influxes ahead of kick-off. FIFA’s decision to appoint a single official partner – rather than the incumbents – gives a newcomer the brand of the tournament at precisely the moment when prediction markets became common in American sports.

The review focuses on Gibraltar, which issued ADI, what officials describe as its first predictive market operator license. Reports that the approval came nine days after the company was incorporated, at the discretion of the justice minister, sparked criticism that the process was rushed. Gibraltar Gaming Commissioner Andrew Lyman responded, calling the report “sensationalist” and arguing that the speed did not mean a lack of control.

ADI Predictstreet traces via Finstreet to Sirius International Holding, the digital arm of Abu Dhabi’s International Holding Company, linking it to one of the emirate’s largest conglomerates. Its leaders have also attracted attention: Josimar reported that Psarrakis had previously advised former European Parliament vice-president Eva Kaili, arrested as part of the 2022 “Qatargate” investigation linked to the Qatar World Cup. Psarrakis denies any involvement and Kaili denies any wrongdoing. ADI says its compliance stack – identity checks through Sumsub, blockchain analytics through Global Ledger, and transaction monitoring from Modulus – is designed to meet the integrity standards of regulated markets. For now, the platform is active and taking a stand – a change from the spring, when ADI’s previous initiatives sparked skepticism about how it would work. Whether a state-linked newcomer will be able to hold the official World Cup prediction badge without the regulatory friction that already weighs on its biggest rivals will be played out over the course of the month-long tournament.
