As mentioned in the previous finalized articleAltair is scheduled to go live at epoch 74240, October 27, 2021, at 10:56:23 UTC. See the Altair Mainnet Announcement for more details on who, how and why.
Suffice it to say here that the upgrade will happen in about a week, so your node upgrade time is NOW. If you run a validator on the beacon chain, you must upgrade before the Altair upgrade epoch, otherwise you will incur downtime penalties.
Note: 4 of the 5 mainnet clients — Nimbus, Teku, Lighthouse and Prysm — have released minor releases since Altair’s original announcement (updated list here). Since these new versions contain a mix of security fixes and optimizations, we very We recommend running the latest client version even if you have already upgraded for Altair.
