Two senior figures from Hong Kong, Eric Yip Chee-Hang of the Securities and Futures Commission and the Legislator Johnny Ng Kit-Med, withdrew from a next Bitcoin conference where Eric Trump should speak, according to a new report by the South China Morning Post.
At the beginning of July, the conference confirmed that the son of American president Donald Trump was locked as a title of title of the Bitcoin Asia conference scheduled from August 28 to 29. He is about to talk about the future of Bitcoin and the growing role of Asia.
As of July 14, Yip and NG were still listed as main speakers, but on August 28, the two had been quietly removed from the program.
The legislators were discreetly said to stay away from the Bitcoin Asia event if Eric Trump was present, two sources familiar with the SCCP issue said. We do not know who issued the council.
“There is a request to the legislators, asking them not to attend the forum which also presents the son of Trump,” said a source. “And I think we all understood the reason.”
American Bitcoin, supported by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., is under discussion to acquire a business in Japan and potentially in Hong Kong to use as regional vehicles of Crypto Treasury, the Financial Times reported earlier this month.
