Dear Ethereum community (and wonderful etherheads!),

Today, on January 31, 2018, this is my last day as executive director of the Ethereum Foundation.

I am happy to have been able to guide the Foundation as an ED with my colleagues directors, the team leaders and the exceptional group of team members, each of whom contributed to our current position of force. Taking the foundation of what was a startup at the start of stability, with infrastructure and resources to support the changes, improvements and challenges to come was not an easy task in blockchain and cryptoland!

We have crossed a lot together to pass successfully through several growth stages in the past 2.5 years. Consequently, the Ethereum Foundation has become stronger, more solid and more capable as organization, entity and leading contributor in the Ethereum community and the largest world of emerging technology.

Now that the Foundation has successfully launched Frontier, published Homestead and Metropolis-1 (Aka Byzance), and has the resources to continue to support its mission and its projects, teams and related objectives, I feel satisfied with the critical work that has been made so that the next part of the trip can take place as envisaged.

I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to urge the community to give to the incoming executive director and all the new members of the team a warm and open -minded welcome as well as the time necessary for organizational changes of this nature.

For the members of my beloved team, there are no words to express the effect and experience of working with you in recent years. You will forever be an important part of my life and I will root you to the Foundation or wherever life takes you when I start my own new phase.

As I will take care of a number of questions expected for a long time in a personal nature, I would like to ask for the blockchain ecosystem.

I wish with all my heart the best for the Foundation, the new members of the team and those of us who continue here while we brain the new world to evolve and shine together and separately.

Executive director of Ming Chan (August 1, 2015 – January 31, 2018) Ethereum Foundation
