Instant USD Withdrawals Now Available on Kraken

TL;DR

  • Kraken now offers instant USD withdrawals to US customers, allowing funds to be transferred from a Kraken account to a bank account in minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including weekends and federal holidays.
  • No hidden fees and free ACH withdrawals remain available to users who do not require same-day access.
  • Unlike traditional ACH transfers, which can take three to five business days and are limited to weekday business hours, Kraken’s instant withdrawal option eliminates settlement delays regardless of the time or day the withdrawal is initiated.

Why moving your own money can still take days

You have sold your position. You’ve done the math. You want your money. But then you will have to wait.

For most Americans, moving funds from a financial platform to a bank account means entering the limbo of a system built decades ago. Three to five business days. Opening hours only. Federal holidays do not count. Weekends reset the clock.

In a world where information travels instantly, where markets never close, where digital assets settle in minutes, the simple act of moving one’s own dollars into one’s own bank account has remained stubbornly and inexplicably slow.

The infrastructure deficit

Automated Clearing House (ACH), the network that handles most everyday bank transfers in the United States, was designed in the early 1970s. It was designed for batch processing, day-to-day settlement, and a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday financial world.

ACH is doing its job. It does it slowly.

Think of it less like a bank transfer and more like the postal service. Your instructions are stacked, processed in batches overnight, and arrive when the system gets there.

Designed for a world that doesn’t run on bankers’ schedules

The markets do not close at 5 p.m. Opportunities don’t wait until Monday morning. And you shouldn’t have to either.

Starting today, US customers can withdraw USD from Kraken to their bank account in minutes, anytime, any day.

365 days a year. Friday evening. Sunday morning. December 25. Money moves when you tell it to.

A 1.5% fee applies, capped at $50. There are no hidden fees. If you’re not in a hurry, free ACH withdrawals remain available as always. We’re adding a choice, not removing one.

Why it matters beyond convenience

Speed and access have always been part of what makes money truly useful. A store of value that you cannot achieve on your own schedule is limited.

For too long, crypto platforms (and financial platforms in general) have offered speed in trading and slow settlement. This disconnection has a real cost.

Instant USD withdrawals bridge this gap. This is a small but significant step toward a financial infrastructure that truly reflects the way people live, not the hours of an institution built half a century ago.

A new standard

We have long argued that financial access must be real access and not dependent on the calendar, clock or preferences of existing systems. Instant USD withdrawals are available in your wallet now.

Your money. Your schedule. This is how it should work.
