These crooks had a pretty smart but mean thing. They would pretend to fall in love with people online, then convince their victims to put money in false cryptographic investments. Once the money has been sent, it simply disappeared and the romance turned out to be completely false too.

The country’s anti-corruption agency announced deportations on Thursday, saying that they really repressed these online scam operations now. They have in fact expelled even more people since mid-August, including 39 other Philippins and 10 other Chinese nationals.

All of these deportees were part of a huge bust that occurred in December. The police arrested 792 alleged cybercriminals in a single operation in Lagos, which is quite impressive when you think about it. At least 192 of those arrested were not even Nigerian citizens.

The Nigeria Affaire des crooks on the Internet for years now. Residents even have a nickname for them – “Yahoo Boys. “The problem is that foreign criminal groups are installed there because cybersecurity systems are not as strong as other countries.

Conclusion

Nigeria is seriously fighting against online scams by cutting foreign criminals. This shows how romantic cryptography scams become a global problem that requires difficult action.
