Render completes 98% of Solana migration as RENDER replaces RNDR

The Render Foundation claims that 98.4% of the token supply has now migrated from Ethereum-based RNDR to native RENDER on Solana, bringing one of the network’s most significant infrastructure transitions closer.

The migration changes put job settlement on Solana’s high-speed rails. For a project focused on decentralized GPU rendering, this is important because speed, transaction cost, and network efficiency can affect the smooth coordination and payment of compute-related tasks.

Rendering has long been at the intersection of cryptography, AI, GPU infrastructure, and decentralized computing. Moving almost the entire token supply to Solana gives the project a cleaner foundation for future network activity.

The remaining unmigrated supply is described as largely inactive cold storage, meaning the active market has essentially completed the transition.

TL;DR

  • The Render Foundation reports that 98.4% of supply has migrated from RNDR to Solana’s native RENDER.
  • Migration movements allow tasks to be settled on Solana rails.
  • The transition is almost complete, but some of the inactive supply has not migrated.

Why rendering was moved to Solana

Migrating from Render to Solana was all about performance.

A decentralized rendering network must efficiently coordinate tasks, payments, and participants. If transaction costs are high or settlement is slow, the user experience suffers. Solana’s low fees and fast confirmations make it attractive to networks that expect frequent interactions.

For Render, this matters because the project is more than just a token. It is a framework for distributed GPU rendering.

As AI and graphics workloads increase, the demand for compute infrastructure has become one of the most important themes in technology and crypto. Render’s argument is that unused GPU capacity can be coordinated through a decentralized network.

This model requires a blockchain layer that can manage activity without creating too much friction.

Solana provides Render with a faster settlement environment than the Ethereum mainnet.

RNDR To RENDER is more than a ticker change

Token migrations may seem cosmetic, but they are often operationally important.

Moving from RNDR to native RENDER changes where the token is located, how it is installed, and how users interact with the network. Exchanges, wallets, custodians, holders, and applications must all support the transition.

A migration rate of 98.4% suggests the process is almost complete.

This reduces fragmentation between old and new versions of tokens. This also gives the ecosystem more confidence that future integrations can focus on Solana’s native RENDER rather than supporting an offering spread across different formats.

The remaining inactive supply is still large, but it is less disruptive if most active holders and infrastructure have already migrated.

Why Solana also benefits

The Render migration is also a win for Solana.

The network has been working to attract serious infrastructure projects, not just meme token exchanges. Render gives Solana exposure to decentralized computing, GPU markets, AI workloads, and creator infrastructure.

This helps expand Solana’s narrative.

A chain becomes more credible when it supports multiple types of activities: DeFi, payments, stablecoins, gaming, NFTs, AI infrastructure, and real-world applications. Rendering fits into the AI and calculation side of this story.

For Solana, the question is whether projects like Render generate sustained transaction activity and user demand.

If they do, Solana’s role extends beyond retail trading and speculation. It becomes a regulation layer for more diverse applications.

Decentralized computing still needs to prove itself

The migration step is positive, but Render still has bigger challenges.

Decentralized computing is a competitive market. Centralized cloud providers are powerful. Specialized GPU markets are growing. The demand for AI infrastructure is huge, but users still care about reliability, price, performance and ease of use.

Render needs to prove that its decentralized model can be competitive in this environment.

A smoother settlement layer based on Solana is helpful, but it doesn’t solve all business questions. The network still needs demand from creators, developers, AI users, and enterprise workloads.

Token migration is infrastructure. Adoption is the real test.

However, almost all migration eliminates a major transition risk. This gives Render a cleaner technical foundation and reduces uncertainty for holders and ecosystem partners.

For RENDER, the next phase is to prove that the Solana movement improves the utility of the network.

If so, the migration will perhaps be remembered as a significant step in connecting cryptographic rails to real-world computing demand.
