Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Endorses Donald Trump, Rallies Pro-Bitcoin Candidates

The most popular independent presidential candidate in the United States has officially given his political support to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

His support puts two of the three major presidential candidates who are explicitly pro-Bitcoin on the same political team.

Why RFK Supported Trump

Kennedy said the Trump campaign offered him a position in the Trump administration. He said he received a call from the Trump campaign and later met with the former president and his family just days after the assassination attempt on Trump in July.

Kennedy said he was surprised to find that he and Trump agreed on several policy issues. “These are the main reasons I left the Democratic Party and ran as an independent, and now support Trump: free speech, the war in Ukraine and the war on our children,” he said.

“I feel a moral obligation to use this opportunity to save millions of American children, first and foremost,” he added, referring to a new opportunity he would have with Trump to tackle the country’s chronic disease epidemic.

Kennedy said his withdrawal was also part of his commitment not to become a “spoiler” in the race. He said his campaign’s internal polling showed his presence in the race could split the vote in a way that would hand victory to Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party — a party he said has no interest in addressing the country’s health crisis.

The Modern Democratic Party

This party, he said, is no longer the Democratic Party that his father or his uncle John F. Kennedy would have recognized.

“Back then, Democrats were the defenders of constitutions and civil rights,” he said. “They opposed authoritarianism, censorship, colonialism, imperialism and unjust wars… They became the party of war, of censorship, of big pharma, big tech and big finance.”

Kennedy made it clear that he would only remove his name from the ballot in key states, with voters in heavily Democratic states still having the option to vote for him.

Trump will hold an event in Glendale, Arizona, later Friday, where his campaign said a “special guest” will be in attendance.

After Kennedy’s endorsement, Trump’s chances of winning the election on Polymarket remained stable at 51% versus 46% for Harris. However, the price of Bitcoin jumped 5.34% to $63,661, reflecting Bitcoin’s current influence on American electoral politics.

Trump has become a favorite candidate for cryptocurrency industry leaders, who have been disenfranchised by the Biden administration’s hostile stance on digital assets. Unlike the Republican Party, the Democratic Party’s election platform makes no mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.
