The strategy could hold up to 7% of the world’s bitcoin, said Michael Saylor on Friday, but he pushed the idea of total domination, claiming that the company had no intention or ability to have the entire offer.
“I do not think we will get all this,” said Saylor when asked if there was one thing such as too much bitcoin so that the strategy is owned or if it could ever own it. “I don’t think that in the range of 3 to 5% or 3-7% is too much.”
Following its last acquisition of 21,000 BTC this week, Bitcoin Holdings of Strategy increased to 628,791 BTC, which is equivalent to almost 3% of the total supply of parts. The company’s bitcoin reserve is now estimated at around $ 73 billion.
“We had very little when Bitcoin was $ 10,000,” said Saylor. “And now Bitcoin costs more than $ 100,000, and 97% of Bitcoin is worth ten times more. And someone else, not us. So, is a practical question. What we are doing is that we monetil and have this.”
Pressed if he wanted to have any bitcoin, Saylor said that full control was not the goal.
“We would not want to own it; we want everyone to have their article,” said Saylor, adding that it was encouraged by the growth in the adoption of companies, which supports the idea of generalized and decentralized participation in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
“There are 160 companies that capitalize on Bitcoin on the public market, against around 60 last year. Thus, the explosion of the Bitcoin Treasury Movement,” he added.
“The big idea,” said Saylor, “is to take digital capital, issue digital credit and offer titles adapted to various investor profiles.”
Aggressive Bitcoin strategy as “digital capital”
Saylor has described Bitcoin as a “digital capital” and has reiterated that the main business model of the strategy is to accumulate bitcoin and make “digital credit” as favorite equity to remove volatility for investors while providing structured yield and exposure to the underlying assets.
“We consider Bitcoin as digital capital. The business model of the company must accumulate digital capital, then issue digital credits as well as privileged actions against this digital capital in order to remove volatility and the risk of Bitcoin and provide investor return, “said Saylor.
When asked if the strategy was based too much about Bitcoin’s success, Saylor remained optimistic. “Our 20-year forecasts for Bitcoin are 30% round,” he said, arguing that digital assets replace physical stores of the 20th century such as gold, real estate and treasury bills.
