Six-Day ETF Entry Streak Brings Bitcoin Back Above $66,000 After $2.7 Billion Exodus

In today’s Bitcoin ETF news, U.S. spot ETFs saw $723.3 million in net inflows over five consecutive sessions through July 20, 2026 – the longest winning streak since May, reversing what had been a brutal 10-day, $2.7 billion outflow cycle.

The structural question that matters: whether this is a lasting institutional re-engagement or a short-term relief rally dressed in ETF clothing.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s price is around $65,700, up +0.2% in 24 hours, with a market cap of $1.31 trillion and a daily trading volume of $29.72 billion, according to CoinGecko.

The broader crypto market added around $63 billion in value in the same window, with Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin all posting gains.

Bitcoin ETF News: $900M Six-Day Entry Streak and Clear Break from Exit Cycle

According to data from SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $203 million in net inflows on July 21 (ET), marking the sixth consecutive day of net inflows. Spot Ethereum ETFs saw net inflows of $37.471 million, extending their net inflow streak to three days. pic.twitter.com/kmkANGsLwA

The mechanisms of the reversal deserve to be traced with precision. The previous 10-day outflow streak had extracted more than $2.7 billion from US spot Bitcoin ETF products, a sustained institutional pullback that compressed sentiment and pressured BTC below $55,000 at its worst point.

Yesterday (July 21) was the most notable recent rally: $226 million in a single day, with BlackRock IBIT contributing the breakthrough institutional volume.

The mid-July sessions, ranging from around $108 million to $181 million from July 14-17, kept the streak alive without headline-grabbing numbers. July 20 closed out the five-day run at $226.8 million, bringing the cumulative two-week total to around $273 million in consecutive positive weeks.

Think of it like a faucet that has been tightly closed during the flow phase: the first few days after reopening, the flow increases to high pressure, then settles into a more regular flow. This more constant flow, these consistent daily positive results rather than single success days – is arguably the most lasting signal.

IBIT, FBTC and ARKB: who does the heavy lifting

Institutional demand for Bitcoin is not evenly distributed across the ETF landscape. BlackRock IBIT, Fidelity FBTC and ARK ARKB generated multi-session flows during the six-day streak, according to CoinGlass data.

This trend is consistent with the behavior of these three products since the launch of Bitcoin spot ETFs in the United States; the largest issuers capture the largest share of institutional flows, in part because their distribution relationships with wealth management platforms and advisory networks are deeper.

BlackRock’s Larry Fink has publicly touted IBIT as a long-term portfolio allocation tool rather than a short-term trading vehicle, a positioning that resonates with retirement consultants and family office allocators who tend to scale in size and retain value despite volatility.

This framework is important here: the fact that ETF inflows resumed while sentiment was still below neutral, before the market had clearly recovered, suggests that the buyers who stepped in were not momentum chasers.

Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas laid out the real roadmap for Bitcoin ETFs. Gold.

GLD reached $76 billion in 2011, briefly the world’s largest ETF, then collapsed to $22 billion. Recovered at $84 billion, fell to $48 billion and now sits at almost $190 billion. 15 years, four complete cycles.$IBIT has already taken the first step.… pic.twitter.com/pZDTrciS6s

The two regulatory catalysts that changed the macroeconomic situation

In other Bitcoin ETF news, the inflow streak did not occur in isolation, as two significant regulatory developments influenced market sentiment. First, the US White House reportedly negotiated an agreement on an ethics package that blocked the CLARITY Act, which aims to clarify the jurisdictional overlap between the SEC and CFTC over digital assets.

This resolution increases the likelihood that the bill will advance in the Senate, providing much-needed clarity on asset classification, which affects ETF structures.

Second, on July 21, the Russian State Duma passed a comprehensive law on the crypto market, officially classifying cryptocurrencies as property and allowing regulated exchanges under the supervision of the Bank of Russia.

Non-qualified retail investors will face a purchase limit of 300,000 rubles, while qualified investors have no cap but must complete a risk assessment. The law comes into force on September 1, 2026.

While none of these developments immediately unlock new Bitcoin ETF flows, they collectively reduce policy uncertainty, thereby reducing the regulatory risk premium that affects BTC valuations in institutional models.

Bitcoin ETF News: Whales Hoarded 66,700 BTC as Retail Hesitant

Bitcoin Whales Buy Billions of BTC as Small Holders Exit

Bitcoin whales holding between $1,000 and $10,000 BTC have accumulated 66,700 BTC over the past 60 days, their largest accumulation since February, according to CryptoQuant.

Beneath the ETF flow data, a story of on-chain accumulation was unfolding. According to CryptoQuant, Bitcoin whales, addresses holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC, accelerated their purchases after BTC fell below $55,000 in July, accumulating more than 66,700 BTC worth approximately $4.415 billion.

While the price of Bitcoin has remained below its peak, these mid-to-large holders have increased their purchases, a trend that could signal a tightening supply and upward pressure on prices.

In contrast, retail participation has been cautious, creating a scenario in which a whale buildup occurs while retail remains on the sidelines. History shows that retail usually re-emerges after prices rise, often paying more for the same supply.

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, demonstrated continued confidence by raising $500 million through a convertible note offering while retaining its BTC holdings, suggesting plans for future acquisitions.
