Solana’s AVA AI token crashes at 96%: “insider” wallets reported

The Solana AI Ava (AVA) crypto has crashed more than 96% from its January high after on-chain analysts reportedly tied about 40% of the supply to coordinated “insider” wallets at launch.

AVA is now trading near $0.01 after peaking at around $0.33, erasing almost all of its AI-fueled rally. The drama comes smack in the middle of an AI token boom on Solana and Ethereum, where rapid launches and hype often outweigh basic controls over who actually owns the coins.

What happened with AVA and why should small investors care?

Today, the launch of a new token is akin to selling concert tickets. A small group writes the website and quietly buys almost half the tickets in the first second, everyone arrives late and pays top dollar to the resellers. This is actually what is happening in the chain, and the analysis suggests that this happened with AVA’s early supply.

AVA launched on November 13, 2024 on Pump.fun, a Solana launchpad that promises fair and community-based memecoin-style launches. According to Cryptonewsanalytics firm Bubblemaps tracked 23 wallets, including the deployer, funded through Binance and Bitget just before launch and then purchased aggressively when trading opened.

These wallets showed no history and received similar amounts of SOL, then used automated trading to draw down AVA the moment it became tradable. Sniping in crypto means bots scoop up huge allocations at launch before regular buyers can even click “buy.” According to MEXC Searchthese portfolios ended up representing approximately 40% of AVA’s total supply.

I think it’s modular, but in reality it’s just a carpet pulling simulator. $ava: because “carpet” is a four-letter word. pic.twitter.com/zvemfcUU7C

For us, risk management is simple. When one group controls that much supply, your trade depends on their mood. If they decide to sell hot, the price often drops while late buyers hold the bag. AVA fits this scenario: from a fully diluted valuation near $300 million in January to penny levels today.

AVA is part of the growing Solana scene, which you can see around the world. Solana Ecosystem. The token introduced itself as one of the first 3D AI agent coins, backed by Holoworld AI, a portfolio company of Polychain Capital. Holoworld claims to have created over 10,000 3D characters, partnered with over 25 IP and NFT brands, and attracted over 1 million users, according to HTX.

Yet even with continued development, AVA is trading more than 79% below its launch price and more than 96% below its all-time high. Hype and clever branding have not protected buyers from the fundamental risk of supply concentration. The lesson: Strong narratives and polished websites don’t erase bad tokenomics.

How does this change how you should approach the new Solana and AI tokens?

This episode of AVA fits a pattern. Bubblemaps reported similar pooled wallet behavior for PEPE, the $WET presale on Solana, and other hot tokens. Many of these launches used the “fair launch” label, but early wallets still quickly absorbed much of the supply.

The same Solana engine that powers serious projects like USDC integrations and high network activity also attracts fast speculative tokens. Speed goes both ways. You can make quick wins. You can also see a chart drop 90% in a few days if insiders pull out.

So what do you actually do as a small investor? Before purchasing a new token, especially on Solana or a memecoin launchpad, consider token distribution as your first alarm check. Look for a transparent breakdown of the offering: team, investors, community and vesting schedules.

How to easily check the top holder of a coin on Solana to determine if it is going all-in or what its potential is.

If you don’t see a clear tokenomics page, or if on-chain explorers show a few wallets holding 20-40% of the supply, treat it like a penny stock managed by a single fund. You can still speculate, but you value it like a lottery ticket, not your savings. Never send rent money in a chart that insiders can destroy with a single click.

You can also study past fraudulent launches and insider games across channels in our coverage of symbolic fraud and other security breaches. The patterns repeat themselves: hidden whales, bundled portfolios, opaque acquisitions, and “community” rhetoric that doesn’t match the data.

What practical checks can you do before jumping into the next AVA-type hype?

Here’s a simple checklist for beginners. First, scan the top holders on a block explorer. If the top 10 wallets have half the supply, you’re counting on their mercy. Second, confirm whether team and investor tokens are contained in fixed-term contracts or can be moved today.

Third, search X for on-chain researchers like Bubblemaps or independent sleuths. If they’ve already reported sketchy grouping, walk away. Fourth, compare market cap to actual usage. A small app with a fully diluted valuation of $300 million screams speculation, not fundamentals.

Presales and early launches on Solana and other chains still offer big benefits, but they are on the high-risk end of the crypto spectrum. If you treat them like small capped bets with strict rules, they remain exciting instead of life ruining. This mindset will be even more important as the next wave of AI and memecoin launches arrive in your feed faster than ever.
