Spacecoin enters partnership with Vietnam with annual revenue target of $100 million

Key takeaways

  • Spacecoin has signed an exclusive 3-year memorandum of understanding with DETI to expand in Vietnam.
  • The project targets over $100 million in annual revenue via Mobifone and Gtel deployments.
  • Spacecoin plans licensing and then deployment of satellite, blockchain and Edge AI services.

Spacecoin partners with DETI to bring satellite telecommunications and AI to Vietnam

Spacecoin has signed an exclusive memorandum of understanding with Vietnamese company DETI Technology, giving the company a three-year role in the development and distribution of Spacecoin’s decentralized satellite telecommunications stack in the country.

The agreement targets a minimum of $100 million in annual revenue once the project becomes commercially operational. The deployment will focus on serving two main Vietnamese mobile operators, Mobifone and Gtel.

The exclusivity period begins after the project receives official operating licenses. Under this agreement, DETI will act as Spacecoin’s sole partner for cooperation, development and distribution in Vietnam.

The partnership brings together four main technologies: decentralized satellite telecommunications, sovereign routing, blockchain and Edge AI.

The satellite component is designed to provide connectivity without relying on a single operator or fixed terrestrial infrastructure. This could be important in Vietnam, where demand for reliable coverage continues to grow in urban, rural and remote areas.

Sovereign routing aims to keep data routing decisions under local control. In practice, this means that traffic can be governed in Vietnam rather than relying on infrastructure or routing rules controlled elsewhere.

Edge AI adds another layer by processing data closer to where it is created. This can reduce latency and reduce the cost of sending large volumes of data back to remote data centers.

Blockchain will be used for settlement and coordination of the network, connecting the different parts of the system. For telcos, the combined stack could offer a way to expand modern connectivity without replacing existing infrastructure from scratch.

Vietnam chosen for rapid technology adoption

Spacecoin said Vietnam is a natural early stage market due to its young and mobile population and the government’s focus on digital infrastructure. The company also highlighted the country’s rapid adoption of new technologies as a reason for choosing it as its launch market.

“We are at the start of a remarkable period for space, with satellite launches and deployments accelerating across the industry,” said Tae Oh, founder of Spacecoin. “Vietnam is moving forward early, and that’s exactly the kind of ambition we want to build in parallel.”

The deal is part of Spacecoin’s broader expansion strategy into emerging telecommunications markets. The company said it also works with partners in Africa and Asia, including Kenya, Nigeria, Indonesia and Cambodia.

Spacecoin said governments, telecom operators and internet service providers were already testing its network using CTC-1 satellites in orbit. The company also said it sent blockchain messages from Earth to space and back, describing the test as a functional validation of its infrastructure.

For Spacecoin, the Vietnam deal is both a commercial anchor and proof. The company is betting that satellite and blockchain-coordinated connectivity will be part of the next phase of telecommunications infrastructure in fast-growing digital markets.
