One of the richest entrepreneurs in Mexico has made a dramatic affirmation on social networks that Bitcoin is a better investment than property. Ricardo Salinas Pliego, worth almost $ 6 billion, expressed this week on its page X (formerly Twitter). He described the purchase of a house as a “expense” and encouraged individuals to reconsider investment in the property.

In the opinion of Salinas, Bitcoin is the best bet. He didn’t just say it – he invests where his mouth is. The billionaire holds around 70% of his assets in investments related to Bitcoin and Bitcoin.

Real estate considered an expense, not a profit

Salinas does not hold back when he spoke of real estate. He said that having a house is not really an investment as many people think. Instead, he considers him as something that drains money. The property is delivered with taxes, maintenance and documents. It stays in the same place and cannot be easily moved or modified.

Invert in Raíces bienes is una Pesima inversion !!!

No condemned to dejen, los wellhes raíces no son una buena inversión.

Comprar una casa para vivir es a gasto comprar una casa o a departmento para rentar, es un pendejada, mejor Intviertan in #Bitcoin.

While most continue to consider real estate as the conservative and default option, Salinas explicitly expressed its conviction that perception is archaic. In a word: individuals who buy real estate as a speculative investment could be mistaken.

Bitcoin offers larger gains

The figures come back what Salinas claims – at least lately. Between 2017 and 2024, the global property provided a yield of 36%. During the same period of time, Bitcoin exploded by 2,000%.

This cutting -edge type is not typical, and some investors warn that Bitcoin is volatile and uncertain. However, it is difficult to deny the figures. More and more people are taking note, especially after the institutions have started to buy.

Bitcoin does not require any correction. It does not require any roofs. There is no water or tenant costs to bother you. And for real estate, it is considerably less difficult to buy or sell quickly.

Housing market growth slows down

According to a recent JPMorgan report, the prices of American houses will only increase 3% in 2025. It is a modest increase, since inflation and other expenses are increasing. Demand is also down. Higher interest rates and economic uncertainty stimulate many market buyers.

Investors who specialize before in houses are now running elsewhere. Bitcoin, with growing use and a reduction in maintenance costs, is becoming more and more attractive for retail investors as well as large money arguments.

Salinas doubles on bitcoin

Salinas is not unknown with Bitcoin. He talks about it for years. But to keep 70% of its richness there? It is a powerful indication that he thinks the future. For someone who directs a giant commercial empire such as Grupo Salinas and Grupo Elektra, this decision says a lot.
