Telecommunications company fed by the blockchain World mobile announced on Friday that it had teamed up with the largest digital infrastructure provider in Indonesia, PROTELINDOTo launch a new stratospheric telecommunications platform aimed at extending global connectivity.
The initiative, called World Mobile Stratospheric, uses high -altitude aircraft and supplied by hydrogen to provide direct connections to hand via blockchain -based infrastructure.
The fixed wing aircraft, developed in collaboration with a world aerospace leader, is designed to fly to altitudes up to 20,000 meters.
Field tests in the United Kingdom with BtIn Europe with Deutsche TelekomAnd through the Middle East have demonstrated the plane’s capacity to support up to 500,000 simultaneous mobile connections.
The platform promises a larger bandwidth, lower latency and considerably reduced operational and environmental costs, up to 99% less environmental impact compared to conventional telecommunications deployments.
At the heart of the project is the World Mobile blockchain token WMTX / USDwhich underpins its decentralized sharing-economy model.

CEO Micky Watkins highlighted the importance of this token -based infrastructure. “By combining advanced aerospace technology with an economy focused on chips, we build a network that connects more people, more quickly and in a way that is economically and respectful of the environment.”
Protelindo, whose telecommunications towers and fiber infrastructure cover the Indonesia archipelago, considers technology as a leap forward for poorly served areas in the region.
A company spokesperson noted that the World Mobile model could considerably improve access to distant regions.
While skepticism around the blockchain remains in the traditional telecommunications sectors, World Mobile is positioned as an alternative and supplementary actor viable, in particular in markets like the United States, where connectivity remains unequal.
The payload and the endurance capacities of the plane also open the door to additional applications beyond telecommunications, signaling wider use cases for blockchain infrastructure in stratospheric operations.
