A crypto user has just lost more than $ 2.5 million in a simple copy error and stick. They tried to move 843,166 USDT to a safe wallet. Instead, they sent a piece to the bad address.
Then they did it again – this time sending $ 1.7 million to the same crook. It is an expensive reminder that even small shifts can erase fortune.
The cropping crop leads to a loss of a million dollars
According to channel files, the victim first moved $ 838,611 to USDT at the right address (0x4668d1Fe87444A4D750…). A moment later, they clicked on the bad entry into their transaction history.
This misstep cost them 843 166 USDT at current prices. They tried once again. And again, the funds went to the crook account – and an additional $ 1.7 million have disappeared.

The tip of poisoning in history takes a lot
Based on Scam Sniffer’s reports, the crooks use “the poisoning of transactions history” to achieve these drawbacks. They send tiny “dust” transfers from views, just enough to clutter the story of a wallet.
🚨 Pempsage of transactions history:
1. The crook sends a false transfer of dust with a similar address
2. Their false address appears in your story
3. You copy the address of the story thinking that it is legitimate
4. The funds are sent to Scammer– SCAM SNIFFER | Web3 Anti-Scam (@realsamsniffer) May 26, 2025
When users scroll through past transactions, they cannot say the real address of the false. Copy. Stick. Disappeared. In this case, the attack address (0x4668ee748c88da4fec…) seemed almost identical to the real one. And he showed a zero balance, adding to the confusion.
Phishing scams remain high
April phishing loss reached $ 5.29 million. It is down 17% compared to March. But the number of victims increased by 26%, from 5,992 to 7,565 addresses. A single “whale” lost $ 1.43 million for a phishing signature. In March, the largest transport was 1.82 million dollars.

New threats to upgrade EIP-7702
On May 24, the gang of Phishing Inferno Raileur used the new EIP-7702 rules of Ethereum to steal nearly $ 150,000 in one. EIP-7702 allows regular accounts act as smart contracts for a while.
The crooks guided the victims to approve a lot of hidden tokens transfers through a configuration of delegated metamasque. A click opened the door to a silent “executing” command which drained the wallets in a few seconds.
Risk risk risk
Cryptographic markets have nearly 3.5 billions of dollars of total value. Bitcoin reached a new summit of $ 111,900 on May 22. Traders are pursuing big gains. This rush makes urgent movements and urgent movements invite mistakes.
