The Qubic Network community voted to target the Dogecoin Blockchain (DOGE) on the days, a few days after the IA project organized a takeover of Monero thanks to a 51%attack.

The founder Sergey Ivencheglo asked the subscribers which network had to be targeted next, offering Dogecoin, Kaspa and Zcash as options. The results of the survey, shared on X, decisively showed Dogecoin’s victory with 301 votes, against 31 for Kaspa and only 12 for ZCASH.

Qubic’s attack on Monero was a concept proof test

The recent vote follows the success of Qubic on Monero’s Blockchain focused on privacy, which the team announced the completion on August 11.

“After a technical confrontation with high issues of one month, Qubic reached 51% of the domination of Hashrate de Monero, successfully reorganizing the blockchain,” wrote the project in a blog.

The attack on the Monero blockchain was a deliberate experience of Qubic to prove that his system of “useful evidence” (UPOW) and “outsourced calculations” can redirect exploitation power to external and profitable tasks, rather than “waste a simple hatch”.

Lots of electricity is burned for useless #PowWe need this electricity to #Ai. These words can be difficult to get and I cannot reveal more now, in the future, they will end up clicking.

Initially, the project resources were divided between the exploitation of Monero and the formation of its native AIA, Aigarth. With this split, the team says that it could have generated a profit which, sometimes, was three times more than a minor would have realized if he had only extracted Monero directly.

Qubic then said that the functionality of the Monero network remains intact, adding that “its confidentiality, its speed and its conviviality have not been compromised”.

The team also said that she had decided not to resume Monero’s consensus “for the moment” following internal discussions on the question of whether this decision would have a negative impact on the price of the native XMR of the blockchain.

In the past 24 hours, XMR’s price has jumped more than 3% to negotiate at $ 276.69 at 6:44 a.m.

“However, the final objective is that the security of the Monero protocol is provided by the minors of Qubic,” wrote the team.

If this happens, this would lead to rewards “channeled in the pools of Qubic, resulting in higher profitability and creating a new higher incentive landscape for minors of Monero,” said the team in the blog post.

Although Monero’s functionality is still intact, Crypto Exchange Kraken had temporarily suspended Monero Deposits, citing a “potential risk to network integrity” from the takeover at 51% of the network’s calculation power.

An attack of 51% is when a group of minors or validators controls more than half of the total mining power in a POW blockchain, giving them the possibility of replacing the normal consensus rules of the network.

In doing so, the group is able to double spending coins, censorship transactions, as well as reorganizing the blocks.

With the attack on Monero, the Qubic mining pool was able to reorganize six blocks, with the mining pool of the project always commanding a hashrate of 2.71 GH / S, data Mine mine emissions.

Doge slides 4% with the Blockchain Dogecoin now threatened

The attack on Monero attracted the community by surprise, but the Doge investors took advantage of it before a potential attack of 51%.

During the last 24 hours, the largest part of memes by market capitalization has seen its price plunge more than 4%, then erasing the gains from the crypto compared to last week.

Someone asked Ivencheglo if he was still too early to try to perform a 51% attack on Dogecoin blockchain, especially since the project has a significantly higher market capitalization than Monero.

Currently, Monero’s capitalization amounts to around 5.05 billion dollars, while Doge’s market capitalization exceeds $ 33 billion, even after the recent drop in prices.

The size of the task is also obvious by the significantly higher hashrate of the Dogecoin network. According to Miningpoolstats, the largest mining swimming pool in the blockchain is directed by Viabtc.com, which has 770.37 TH / S.

Overall, the Dogecoin network has a hashrate of more than 2.68 h / s. To put the difference in size in perspective, a petahash (pH) is equal to 1 million gigahashs (GH).

Ivencheglo does not seem to be too dropped by the difference in computing power. “I’m quite lazy, so I prefer to take the stairs two at a time,” he replied to the question.
