The ZKSYN ZK token has plunged more than 15% today, from $ 0.047 to less than $ 0.04 in an hour after an attacker has operated an administration account compromised to steal around $ 5 million in non -claimed tokens from the project air contract.
The ZKSYNC security team said that if an air contract administration key had been compromised, the incident was isolated and did not affect the main protocol or the ZK token contract. All user funds remain secure.
The violation of security, although limited to the air reserve, sparked a quick sale which contributed to the sharp drop in the price of the token. Zksync launched an internal investigation and announced its intention to provide a complete update later in the day.
