The TRON network (TRX) made the headlines by approving a significant reduction in transaction costs, which reduced them up to 60% following a majority vote within the community, because growing costs were considered an obstacle to user participation and the development of ecosystems.

Frail adjustments to Tron

THE proposal The drop in costs was pulled by the increase in transaction costs which accompanied an increase in the value of TRX, the native token of the network, which has doubled since 2024.

The proposal alleged that if higher costs are essential for the overall security and stability of the Tron network, they also eroded the competitive advantage of Tron, which makes it imperative to adjust them.

Increased TRX price led to a corresponding increase in the costs for transactions, affecting in particular the Stablecoin USDT of Tether and other contracts on the platform.

Consequently, the previous reduction of 50% of the prices of the energy unit, established by a previous proposal, was canceled, which aroused this last response from the super representative Tron community.

At the time of writing these lines, TRX is negotiated at $ 0.33, up 107% per year at the start, being in the best interpreters on the cryptocurrency market during the same period, exceeding tokens like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and others altcoins Like Solana (Sol) and Cardano (ADA).

Expected short -term profit impact

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron and a leading figure in the crypto space, announcement This decision on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He stressed that the reduction in future costs will be the largest reduction in costs since the network was created in 2017 with the Tron Foundation.

Sun allegedly allegedly allegedly, this reduction should have an impact on network profitability, since the network is based on transaction costs as a main source of income.

However, Sun expressed his confidence that long -term benefits would prevail over these first drawbacks. By encouraging an increase in user engagement and more Transaction volumesTron aims to promote a more dynamic ecosystem that ultimately improves profitability.

To ensure that the structure of costs remains competitive and sustainable, the super representative community of the network plans to carry out quarterly network costs.

These evaluations will take into account various factors, in particular the fluctuations in TRX prices, the levels of network activityand overall growth rates. In his article on social networks, Sun also said:

On August 26, 2025, the super representative Tron community proposed reducing the TRON network costs by 60%. This is the reduction in the largest costs since the TRON network foundation. The proposal is already adopted and will take effect at 8:00 p.m. (GMT + 8) this Friday
