Visa Ventures, Global Investment Arm of Visa, made an investment in BVNK, a supplier of Payment Infrastructure of Stablecoin, while the company strengthens its presence in digital finance, BVNK announced on Thursday.
This decision reached after BVNK obtained $ 50 million in a B -head -led by Haun Ventures last December, with the participation of Coinbase Ventures, Tiger Global and others. Funding aimed at supporting the American expansion of BVNK, including new offices in San Francisco and New York.
“We are proud to support the BVNK because they help accelerate the global adoption of stablecoin payments,” said Rubail Birwadker, Manager of Growth Products and Partnerships at Visa, in a statement. The financial terms of the New Deal have not been disclosed.
Birwadker said this decision reflects visa conviction that stablecoins become a common part of world payments. This also marks the company’s first strategic investment in Stablecoin infrastructure.
“The stablecoins quickly become part of the global payment flows, and Visa is investing in new technologies and manufacturers like BVNK, remaining at the forefront of what is next in the trade to better serve our customers and partners,” he said.
Founded in London and now developing in the United States, BVNK is positioning itself as the backend for companies that seek to move chain money. Earlier this year, he opened offices in San Francisco and New York, hiring former director of Blockfi Amit Cheela and Keith Vander Leest de Cross River to direct his American operations.
“We are experiencing a change once in generation to a new fundamental payment technology, propelled by stablecoins,” said Jesse Hemson Struthers, co -founder and CEO of BVNK.
“At BVNK, we build the infrastructure to make these new rails accessible to companies, which allows them to operate at the speed of the economy of today. We are delighted to welcome visa – the original innovator of payments – as an investor and partner in our mission to upgrade the global payment system,” he added.
Visa has considerably widened its Stablecoin strategy, going from pilot programs to large -scale integration of stablecoin payments through its global network.
Earlier this month, the World Payment Giant announced its partnership with Bridge, a Stablecoin infrastructure startup, to allow visa cards linked to the reserve in several countries thanks to a single API integration.
Visa also works with other partners such as Baanx and Rain to expand the use of stables. The company would have planned to join the Global Dollar Network, a Stablecoin consortium focused on the USDG – a fully programmable digital dollar.
