Vice-President JD Vance should give an opening speech to Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas on May 28, marking the first time that an in-office vice-president publicly approved Bitcoin, as confirmed by BTC Inc., the organizers of the largest annual Bitcoin rally in the world.
The speech is scheduled at 9:00 am PST on the Venetian of Las Vegas as part of the “Code + Country” programming track of the conference. The event will be broadcast worldwide.
The appearance of Vance follows President Trump’s speech to Bitcoin 2024 in Nashville during his presidential campaign.
“It’s more than a given moment – it’s a signal,” said David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc. “Bitcoin is the most exciting financial innovation in the world. It is at the forefront of the national conversation.”
Trump selected Vance as a running mate for the 2024 presidential campaign in July of last year. Then as an American Senator of Ohio, Vance was already a defender of vocal cryptography, demonstrating support both by legislative efforts and personal investments in Bitcoin.
According to the federal disclosure forms submitted last August, Vance held Bitcoin exposure worth $ 250,000 and $ 500,000.
During his mandate from the Senate, Vance defended Bitcoin, opposed regulatory overtaking and frequently criticized the leadership of the SEC and a centralized financial control. Its upcoming address should focus on innovation, financial sovereignty and the role of Bitcoin in the future of America.
“It is a historic moment for Bitcoin,” said Brandon Green, co-organizer of Bitcoin 2025. “We are beyond the honor of welcoming the vice-president of the largest Bitcoin conference in the world. VP Vance represents a new generation which values freedom and does not fear-but rather the pioneers-new technology.”
The next conference will also showcase Ross Ulbricht, founder of Silk Road, during his first public appearance since he received a presidential pardon of President Trump and to gain his freedom.
