Perhaps due to its popularity, but Ripple’s token is often the subject of major price predictions, many of which come from its community, known as XRP Army, and they are hard to believe, at least at first glance.
One of the latest, however, came from Ali Martinez, a renowned crypto analyst who showed a lack of bias towards XRP in his commentary. Additionally, he posted a massive and quite unrealistic (at least for now) target of $48, but he based it on technical analysis, indicating that this is the potential top during the next bull run, based on the formation of a multi-year triangle.
While this may seem absurd given XRP’s current price of $1.43 and it would take a 3,300% increase to reach these levels, we decided to ask ChatGPT to analyze this prediction to see if it ultimately makes sense.
Reality check
The AI solution first noted that the multi-year symmetrical triangle began forming from its 2018 high, and this measured movement is calculated by taking the height of the pattern and projecting it upwards from the breakout point. In the case of the asset, the range is quite wide, from $0.20 to $3.84. The current high was achieved in 2025 at $3.60, while the breakout level lies in the huge zone of $10-13.
He denied that such moves measured from very broad models “often overstate theoretical targets” because they assume a sharp breakout with sustained momentum. If XRP were to reach these levels, its market capitalization would make it roughly the current size of Apple and 2 times that of Bitcoin. To do this, these two factors would have to occur:
- The total crypto market capitalization is expected to increase significantly (perhaps between $10-15 trillion).
- XRP is expected to capture a very large share of this capital.
ChatGPT returned to the 2016/2017 cycle when XRP saw a staggering 56,000% surge from around $0.006 to its all-time high of $3.40. In 2020-2021, it gained over 1,000%, but these moves came when XRP was a much smaller altcoin, which is not the case currently.
“Compared to these numbers, 3,300% is not unprecedented in crypto, but it usually happens from much lower starting prices. From a market cap of $88 billion, such moves become more difficult.”
Realistic goals
After dismissing the $48 level as a “multi-cycle moonshot” option in which too many factors need to be perfectly aligned, ChatGPT has set more realistic goals for the cross-border token. His conservative scenario envisages a substantial increase between 3 and 5 dollars.
The strongest bull case, in which XRP and the company behind it are expected to see significant adoption growth, ETF flows are expected to soar, and overall market expansion is expected to be much stronger, sees the asset rise from $8 to $12. The probability of this scenario was deemed “moderate”.
Even in the extreme case of the bull market, XRP is between $15 and $25, and nowhere near $48. And this would be possible if the total market capitalization reached $10 trillion and the cross-border token “captures a large influx of capital driven by the narrative.” This probability was set to “low but plausible”.
