Over the past few days, the crypto space has been nothing but moving. SpaceX transferred 1,083 Bitcoins (BTC), or approximately $100 million, to new wallets. For now, it appears that SpaceX has simply reshuffled its BTC for custody reasons and has no plans to sell it.

However, BTC fell at that time, just before PCE inflation data and large options expiration. Currently, BTC is trading 0.15% higher on the 24-hour chart and is down 2% on the weekly chart.
Looking at the daily chart, it appears that BTC is finally breaking out of the long red downtrend channel, hinting that the worst of the sell-off may be over. Currently, BTC is consolidating just below $90,000 as support has become a resistance zone.

Until the bulls can help the price action close convincingly above the $90,000 level, sellers will still be present to exert some near-term pressure. If BTC manages to surpass $90,000, the next level to cross is at $94,600. A compensation that would confirm the bullish momentum of BTC and open the door to higher targets.

From there, bullish zones around $108,000 and even $116,000 align with past pockets of liquidity.

Crypto Update: Markets Brace for Almost Certain Fed Rate Cut
The FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) meeting on December 9-10 is fast approaching and traders are almost entirely convinced that the Fed (Federal Reserve) will maintain an accommodative policy.
On Polymarket, right now, the odds of a 25 basis point rate cut are 92%, which reverses the market mood regarding BTC. Earlier talk of a breakout is now being replaced by hopes of a crypto gold comeback.
Traders expect Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to make another quarter-point cut this week. At the same time, not all Fed officials are happy with the current situation.
The Fed has made back-to-back cuts, most recently in October after weak summer jobs data, sparking resistance from hawkish members, with five voting officials openly signaling they would not support any more rate cuts in December.
However, the dynamic changed on November 21 when New York Fed President John Williams said conditions warranted a “near-term” cut. Since then, markets have leaned heavily into the idea of further reduction.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s buoyancy, a metric that has coincided with BTC’s bullish phases, is increasing again.
Liveliness has been limited since the peak of 2017, until today.
The 2017 bull was special in that it was the first epic parabola with wide participation, but it was also the time when many old coins were traded to capture the BCH dividend.

Analyst Michaël van de Poppe is optimistic, although he expects some turbulence beforehand. It calls for pre-FOMC selling pressure today and Monday, with prices potentially falling as low as $87,000 to wipe out liquidity before setting up for a stronger rally.
This would be my bullish scenario.
Pre-FOMC and Monday correction to sweep lows. Maybe reach $87,000.
After that, rebound quickly, in which the uptrend is confirmed for #Bitcoin and it is ready to exceed $92,000 and therefore run towards $100,000 in the next 1-2… pic.twitter.com/lQezKkQM5W

US wants 12 years for Do Kwon for over $40 billion
US prosecutors are seeking a 12-year prison sentence for Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, for the $40 billion collapse of Terra. Kwon is currently facing sentencing in the United States after being extradited from Montenegro earlier this year.
Bloomberg cited prosecutors telling U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer that Kwon’s actions were “colossal in scale,” emphasizing that the damage went far beyond Terra itself.

Authorities say Kwon misled investors by presenting Terra’s algorithmic stablecoin as stable and durable, even though internal communications suggested he knew it was vulnerable.
The US Department of Justice is seeking a 12-year sentence. Kwon’s defense team, however, argued for a lighter sentence, citing time spent in harsh detention conditions in Montenegro and saying he did not intend to defraud investors.
SEC Greenlit SUI Crypto ETF with 2x leverage
The SEC’s approval of the new 2x leveraged SUI Crypto ETF came at a good time. Just when the market seems hungry for the next regulatory surprise.
This green light gives SUI another boost in the institutional spotlight, and the arrival of a leveraged crypto ETF on Nasdaq gives traditional investors a way to track SUI’s daily movements without touching the token itself.
The hammer also hits a sign that regulators are warming up to altcoin ETFs after months of approvals in the crypto market, and it adds fuel to Sui’s growing efficient network.

South Korea will treat stock exchanges like banks
South Korea is turning the screws on the country’s stock exchanges after the latest $30 million Upbit hack and plans to treat these platforms more like banks in the future. Simply put, if an exchange is hacked, it should be held accountable to compensate users no matter what.
This is a dramatic change from the past, when exchanges were not required to cover consumer losses in cases such as the Upbit hack.
SECURITY UPDATE:
South Korea is preparing to introduce banking-level no-fault liability rules for crypto exchanges following the recent Upbit hack.

It’s not just about hacks. Korea’s five major exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb and Coinone, have experienced around 20 system outages since 2023, affecting more than 900 users and causing billions in damages. Upbit alone is responsible for six of these failures.
New rules are currently under discussion. They would require stronger IT security, faster reporting of violations and tougher sanctions, including fines of up to 3% of annual turnover.
There is also talk of stricter anti-money laundering enforcement and restrictions on shareholders, with offenders convicted of tax or drug offenses barred from holding stakes in approved exchanges.
