  7. Numerical manifesto of Africa: IPv6, AI, Blockchain at the heart

The term “IPv6” may not generate titles or a consumer buzz, but it is the facilitator of all the latest technologies that do it.

For those who do not know, IPv6 means “Internet Protocol Version 6” and provides an almost unlimited number of IP addresses for secure and end -to -end connectivity. It is much higher than its predecessor, IPV4, which has IP addresses and limited strangulation bottlenecks such as NAT (Translation of Network Addresses).

According to Latif Ladid, president of the IPv6 forum and co-founder and president of the working group on cybersecurity Africa IPv6, IPv6 has a 60% penetration around the world, with 3.2 billion users, more than 60% of which are in Asia. He confirmed that a large goal is now on emerging regions such as Africa because they can jump directly in the latest IPv6 technology technologies.

“We are at a pivotal moment in the evolution of global connectivity. The transition to IPv6 is not only a technical upgrade; it is the backbone of a connected, sustainable and intelligent world,” said Ladid in his opening speech to the Africa IPv6-Cybersecurity Tech Summit on September 9.

According to the theme “the empowerment of the digital future of Africa with IPV6, AI, cybersecurity, quantum IT and new generation infrastructure”, Secure Tech Summit has brought together technology experts, political decision -makers and industry leaders to identify the next stages towards the digital revolution of Africa.

The group unanimously adopted the “Manifesto of the Digital Renaissance of Africa”, a direct appeal for action for governments, the private sector, the university world and civil society to achieve inclusive and sustainable development, digital sovereignty and IPV6 adoption.

Chris Uwaje, co-founder of the Africa IPv6 Cybersecurity Task Force, described the event as “incredibly surprising, creative and strategically inclusive”.

“Africa is a delay in questioning the challenges, opportunities and advantages of the digital / technological transformation ecosystem and recommends an IPv6 compulsory adoption to secure its data sovereignty for the digital security of the continent as well as on sustainable supercharge development”, shared Uwaje with Coingeek after the event.

Jake Jones, IPv6, AI, and the Internet standards of the BSV Association, also one of the “technical pioneers” of the event and speakers, described the Secure Tech Summit as “excellent”. Jones confirmed that he was going with much better understanding of the difficulties, opportunities and potential that the region is faced with regard to information technologies.

“Africa can avoid the expensive errors that others have made – by planning early, prioritizing the double native battery (treating IPV4 and IPv6 as native, separate systems, instead of trying to use fragile transition technology like 6TO4 or Teredo which failed 20 to 40% of time), has shared DNS and firewalls, protection of confidentiality and investment in training, ”shared Jones.

“Africa can jump forward in copying the Asian gaming book (in particular India and China) – the leadership of politics, the collaboration of the industry and the training – making an IPv6 part of the digital transformation, not just networking,” he said.

In his opening speech, Ladid underlined the support of IPv6 to new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, “the three musketeers of technology”, invented by Jones.

IPV6, thanks to its end -to -end connectivity, is what secures data sharing between devices and systems, including AI -focused applications. With the blockchain, IPv6 allows the management of secure, decentralized and transparent data.

“AI and blockchain are the long -awaited killers for IPv6. The first Killer application was the web, the second was the mobile internet … AI will need to verify the valid and real source of information, and the blockchain will be ideal for that, “said Ladid.

“IPv6 is vital for the operation of the blockchain as a digital cash system between peers,” added Jones.

“It is a larger address space and end-to-end connectivity allows each device, individual or service to communicate and transform directly … It is essential for high-speed micropaies (the competitive advantage of blockchain), where billions of micro-transactions must be able to circulate anywhere,” he said.

Facilitating micropaies is a superpower of the BSV blockchain, which gives it a competitive advantage on other blockchain protocols because of its massive capacity to evolve and at negligible costs. With the upgrade of Teranode to come soon, micropaies supplied by BSV are defined to feed a digital future of AI and connected devices.

“Teranode (including its micro-service architecture) is the missing part to unlock high-speed micropaies, which not only provide a way to replace advertising or subscription income models, but also to provide a means of building and accessing many other commercial opportunities and services such as digital identity, banking services and automated notarization,” confirmed Jones.

He then explained how BSV can bring enormous value to telecommunications suppliers of mobile payment services in African countries, with costs of up to 45%.

“A BSV alternative based on IPv6 to these could reduce transaction costs to under-central levels, making services more accessible and more useful in a larger range of contexts,” he said.

“The BSV can also be used as the basis of a digital identity solution that could include digital access to services such as government programs and a low -end digital bank battery,” added Jones.

With so many use cases on the horizon for Africans, it is clear that the scope that IPv6 allows lives and will create opportunities. Stakeholders adopt a united approach to relaunch the digital Renaissance in Africa, with the education of IPv6 in its heart.

Mukom Tamon to Africa IPv6 Cybersecurity Secure Tech Summit 2025.

Mukom Tamon, head of IPv6 courses, workshops and government lobbying in the African register, has created the most extensive IPv6 training program in Africa, with more than 10,000 engineers trained in the past 15 years. Its objective is to encourage the deployment of IPv6 through the continent in partnership with associations such as the Africa IPv6 Cybersecurity Task Force.

“Without IPv6, African countries cannot strengthen digital economies optimized for production rather than consumption,” said Tamon.

The Manifesto of the Digital Renaissance of Africa includes a commitment to meet each year and to examine progress, to establish continental implementation working groups, to create public dashboards for responsibility, to mobilize resources for priority initiatives and to build Africans’ Africa deserves by technology.
