Nearly a month after Ripple delivered xrpld v3.2.0, the rebranded successor to Ripple Core server software, XRPScan data shows that only 357 of the total 828 XRP Ledger nodes (43%) have made the change, while 426 nodes (51%) remain on version 3.1.3.
This isn’t just a slow rollout. This is a structural illustration of the two-tier governance dynamics that define XRPL upgrade cycles: validator consensus is well ahead of the broader node ecosystem, and functional readiness of the network is determined by the former rather than the latter.
We shipped with the community (40+ developers and 9 newcomers) – XRP Ledger 3.2.0, many exciting protocol improvements, including migration to xrpld.
34% are already on 3.2.0!
Please update your nodes as soon as possible.

This drop in XRP USD data came as XRP is trading down -3.5% over the past 24 hours, dropping below $1.10 again, currently trading at $1.09 with a daily trading volume of $1.54 billion.
With this price drop, $1.10 has once again become resistance for XRP USD, and until this level can be reversed and closed above the weekly chart, it will continue to act as a sticking point for any larger moves.
$XRP formed a hidden bearish divergence on the daily timeframe; XRP needs to recover $1.15 soon, otherwise things could get ugly with a return towards $1.00. pic.twitter.com/YXzlS0xDi5

Adoption of the XRPL node: the UNL threshold has already been crossed
The operationally significant number is not the 43% overall adoption rate, but the 89% of Unique Node List (UNL) validators, 31 of 35, already running 3.2.0.
The XRP Ledger requires 80% participation from UNL to consider a software release sufficiently adopted, meaning the network already considers xrpld v3.2.0 the de facto standard. According to the same data, around 61% of validators running Ripple version software have also been upgraded.
For non-UNL nodes, the upgrade remains voluntary at this time, but the incentive structure becomes steeper once a related amendment is activated. Nodes that fall behind after activation risk losing network connectivity, a dynamic that drove adoption during the v3.1.3/Cleanup31_ cycle in late May 2026.
Release v3.2.0 formalizes the rebranding of the core server from rippled to xrpld according to the XLS-0095 specification and delivers 30-40% lower memory usage on network nodes, a direct reduction in infrastructure costs for institutional operators.
The update also improves security, developer tools, and network efficiency, building on bug fixes and improvements to allowed domains and vaults introduced in maintenance release v3.1.3.
The XRP Ledger rolled out its new v3.2.0 server software to cut costs and improve stability, but critical on-chain amendment stuck in voting process

Amendment fixCleanup3_2_0: the vote is still short of activation
The XRPL companion amendment, fixCleanup3_2_0, is the most time-sensitive governance element. At the time of the report’s release, it had garnered only 17 of the required 35 UNL validator votes, or 48.57% support versus the 80% threshold (28 votes) needed for activation.
The amendment governance model also requires support to remain above 80% for a rolling two-week window; any drop resets the timer, which is worth noting when tracking activation data.
If fixCleanup3_2_0 clears this bar, it will deploy fixes for single asset vaults, native lending protocol, multipurpose tokens, permissioned domains, and permissioned DEX.
These features arrived in XRPL’s 2026 change wave, which included XLS-81 (Authorized DEX), XLS-85 (Token Escrow), Authorized Domains (activated April 2, 2026), and XLS-65/66 (Vault Lending Protocol) – making fixCleanup3_2_0 a consolidation patch rather than a net new feature.
What Ripple node operators and institutional participants should watch out for

(SOURCE: TradingView)
The analytical question is no longer whether Ripple’s v3.2.0 rollout has sufficient support for validators; this is the case. The question is whether the fixCleanup3_2_0 vote can create momentum from 48.57% to the 80% activation threshold, and whether the broader node population migrates before this amendment activates, raising the connectivity stakes.
We believe the validator voting schedule is the most important signal for DeFi infrastructure participants on XRPL, as the fixes it brings touch all major protocol surfaces.
This includes vaults, XRP Ledger’s native lending protocol, permissioned exchange rails, and token standards, enabled over the past few months. Node operators that have not yet upgraded to xrpld v3.2.0 run a shrinking window before change pressure increases.
